Policies and Procedures

The salon hours are 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Tuesday - Friday and 6:00 am - 3:00 pm on Saturday; however, prior appointments are welcomed. The salon is closed from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm for lunch.

The Office Manager/Receptionist is responsible for making appointments for John T.  Elliott, all Commissioned Stylists, the Manicurist, Esthetician, and Massage Therapist.

When scheduling your appointment or during appointment confirmations, please notify the receptionist or stylist ahead of time of all requested services, for example: relaxers/other chemicals, cuts/trims, special hairstyles, color, eye arch, etc. Some services require a deposit; if one is needed, you will be notified in advance.

We work as a team! If at any time your stylist is overbooked or goes on vacation, please feel free to have him or her make arrangements to schedule you with one of the other stylists.

Standing Appointments are defined as a day and time reserved for a specific client on a reoccurring schedule. Our Stylists offer weekly, bi-weekly, every 3 weeks, and every 6 weeks reserved appointment slots. If you desire one of these reserved slots, please see the receptionist for availability.

With the exception of the weekly standing appointment, a client will be rotating with other standing clients for bi-weekly or bi-monthly appointments; therefore, the standing appointment schedule remains the same even if a cancellation takes place. Your reserved standing appointment slot will be discontinued if you cancel your hair appointment three (3) consecutive times.

Please allow 2.5  to 3 hours after your scheduled/standing hair appointment for proper hair services to be rendered.

Under normal circumstances, the receptionist may extend a courtesy confirmation call the day prior to your scheduled appointment (this does not include regular standing appointments). However, in the event that you do not receive a reminder call, it is your responsibility to remember your appointment time.

Should you need to cancel any type of appointment (standing or scheduled) for hair or spa services, please make an effort to do so at least 24-hours prior to your appointment time to avoid a $20.00 cancellation fee. This fee is due prior to any future service(s). This policy ensures your stylist is available to reschedule another client in your appointed slot in a timely manner.

If you arrive five or more minutes after your scheduled appointment time, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment with the receptionist or your stylist. If you arrive timely for your scheduled hair appointment and John T. Elliott or one of our other stylists/technicians is running behind schedule, he or she may monetarily adjust your total service bill at their discretion.

For safety reasons, no one is allowed on the clinic floor without the permission of the staff.

In the interest of safety and limited space availability, we ask that you please observe the following guideline: No children or non-servicing client is allowed within the salon unless they are undergoing a hair or spa service. Should you arrive with a child that is not having services provided that day, you may be asked to reschedule for another day. We truly appreciate your understanding with this matter.

Please do not leave any handbags or personal items with the receptionist as the salon cannot be responsible for items such as jewelry, handbags, books, cell phones, keys, etc. left at the salon. An area is available to leave coats/jackets; however, each individual is responsible for retrieving their items prior to their departure from the salon. We do keep a lost & found box and any items left in the salon will be placed in that box for thirty (30) days. Please see the receptionist if you have misplaced an item.

In consideration of the stylists and staff, no profanity is allowed in the salon!

We kindly ask that cell phone usage be limited to when a client is under the hair dryer. Please be courteous of your neighbors by using a mild tone of voice and “family friendly” conversation. Please refrain from using your cell phone while having your hair styled, unless you have an emergency.

Please help yourself to any refreshments that are on the refreshment table and/or in the receptionist area. If you choose to bring your own food, please ask the receptionist to escort you to the designated food area upstairs.

The salon uses professional products lines such as Affirm, Design Essentials, Dudley, KeraCare, and Mizani. Please consider these products for maintaining the health of your hair between your salon visits.

Visa/MasterCard/ Discover (Debit or Credit), Checks, and Cash are all acceptable forms of payment for services rendered by John T. Elliott, Spa Services, or Retail Purchases unless otherwise notified. Please contact each independent stylist for their acceptable forms of payment.

No checks will be held; payment is due when services are rendered. There is a $35.00 returned check fee.

The gold “VIP Beauty Card” is offered to John T. Elliott’s clients only and must be stamped after each hair service is rendered. Discounts can be redeemed after the “special” slot has been stamped.
